A New Direction

Trinity Properties is one of San Francisco’s largest residential property management corporations. With several hundred thousand residential units available for rent, Trinity wanted to venture out into the condominium sales market. Unfortunately, as the market began to ease, the project was indefinitely put on hold until just recently.

Phase I included building the first of 4 residential towers. The client owned the land & rented low-income units therein and was tasked with first providing replacement housing for the low-income renters. The site also resides right above the BART Civic Center subway stop. Thus, incorporation of a retail component was key to the City’s approval process. As well as ongoing discussions with City Planners to incorporate a key design tower element on the corner of 8th & Market that would protrude above the City’s shadow plain ordinance.

My role on this project was as Project Manager & Architect during the Schematic Design phase (until the project went on hold. Coordinating consultants, I oversaw a team of individuals from Shanghai, New York City & Miami putting together the Schematic Design renderings & drawings. As well as developing & presenting models to the client and the City of San Francisco Building & Planning Departments.
